Swiss Air Force – First weapon of attack 1915

Bild von Kecko
The flier arrows made of metal, described in this historical document, were about 12 cm long and thrown off by hand from the aircrafts.
The translation of the document:
Mr. colonel!
I come with the polite request at you, to grant me the necessary credit for the acquisition of 100.000 flier arrows. Because of the available offers, with this quantity an arrow costs 16 cts.
The swiss military aviation possesses today still no weapons of attack any kind.
It’s well-known to me, that german companies for the german army administration want to place orders of millions for flier arrows at companies here. I believe this is the proof, that the flier arrows work satisfactorily as weapon of attack, and we therefore without doubt to dare may the acquisition of these flier arrows.
Command of the Swiss flier department
10,000 (ten thousand) arrows can be ordered for a way of trial.
On a further acquisition one decides later.
